About Our Founder & Formulator, Amber

Amber Champagne is the founder and formulator of ETHYST® Skincare, a brand built around the philosophy of biological skincare—treating the skin as a living system rather than a surface to be corrected.

Amber is a Licensed Esthetician, Clinical Herbalist, Cosmetic Formulator, and Best-Selling Author, as well as a former Senior National Educator for Benefit Cosmetics.

During her career with Benefit, Amber trained thousands of estheticians across the United States and contributed to the development of educational and strategic content used globally. Her work supported the company during a period of major expansion that helped drive Benefit toward becoming a $2 billion global brand.

Prior to launching her own company, Amber spent nearly two decades in multi-level retail and corporate management, gaining extensive experience in operations, leadership, and brand education.

Amber has been a Licensed Esthetician and Clinical Herbalist for more than 12 years. After struggling with adult acne and hormonal skin issues herself, she began researching the biological mechanisms behind these challenges, particularly those that emerge during midlife. She refers to this phenomenon as The Midlife Skin Crisis©.

Through years of research and formulation work, Amber developed ETHYST®, a skincare line designed around the principles of biological skincare: supporting barrier biology, protecting the skin microbiome, and prioritizing endocrine-safe formulation standards.

Her work focuses on helping people restore stronger, more resilient skin by supporting the biological systems that regulate hydration, inflammation, and repair.

Amber is passionate about esthetics, skin science, and self-care, and happily describes herself as a lifelong skin science nerd.

Outside of work, you can find Amber reading scientific studies on skin biology, writing comedy TV scripts, drinking far too much coffee, and spending time with her family, dog, and cat.

Amber is an Enneagram 4w5, is deeply obsessed with coffee, and once did makeup during New York Fashion Week.
