Clean skincare. Redefined.
ABOUT ETHYST®
ETHYST® is a skincare brand developed by licensed esthetician and herbalist Amber Champagne built for people who are done guessing and ready for skincare that actually respects skin biology.
We don’t follow trends.
We don’t rely on marketing shortcuts.
And unlike most of the "clean beauty industry" we don’t use the word clean loosely.
Using our proprietary Champagne Standard™, ETHYST® does not allow over 3200 ingredients commonly found in "clean skincare" today.
We are also 100x cleaner than the U.S. Legal Minimum and independently certified as endocrine-, neurologically, and microbiome safe through CertClean®, the most rigorous third party clean beauty certification there is.
ETHYST® was created around a simple belief: strong skin works better than reactive skin.
That means ultra-clean, effective formulas designed to support the skin barrier, microbiome, and long-term function and lasting results.

Why ETHYST® is different
- Barrier-first formulations grounded in real skin science
- Microbiome-safe, endocrine-safe, neurologically-safe standards
- Over 3,200 ingredients intentionally excluded under our proprietary Champagne Standard™
- CertClean® Certified
- Designed for consistency, not overuse
Our products are developed to work with the skin—not against it—and to perform the same way on day 90 as they did on day one.

Who ETHYST® is for

Welcome to truly clean skincare and lasting results
If you’re ready to stop cycling products and start building strong skin, you’re in the right place.
General FAQs
What makes ETHYST® different from other clean beauty brands?
Most clean beauty brands focus on removing a short list of ingredients.
ETHYST® goes further by redefining how skincare is formulated entirely. Built on biological skincare principles and guided by the Champagne Standard™ — which eliminates over 3,200 ingredients and prioritizes biological compatibility — every formula is designed around how skin actually functions.
Barrier strength, microbiome balance, and system-based formulation over trend-driven actives. Most brands aim to be "less harmful." ETHYST® is built to be truly clean and actively supportive.
Will I get results from using ETHYST®?
Absolutely! ETHYST® skincare has helped thousands of people all over the world.
The thing we hear most often is "I'll never use anything else again."
Our clients can't help, but rave about their results. Feel free to check out our reviews.
When I need to replenish my skincare products, how can I do so?
Where are ETHYST® products made?
ETHYST® products are made in the United States, allowing for close oversight of formulation and production, higher quality control standards, and reliable batch consistency.
This aligns with our commitment to responsible manufacturing, sustainability, and maintaining integrity at every stage from ingredient sourcing to the finished product in your hands.
Are ETHYST® products safe for pregnancy or sensitive skin conditions?
ETHYST® is formulated to be gentle, barrier-supportive, and free from many commonly flagged ingredients — including endocrine disruptors, synthetic fragrance, and harsh actives — making it well-suited for sensitive and sensitized skin.
For pregnancy, our formulations are designed with safety in mind, but we always recommend consulting with your healthcare provider for individual guidance.
How long until I see results?
Most people notice an initial improvement in how their skin feels within the first few days — softer, calmer, and more comfortable.
Visible improvements in tone, texture, and overall balance typically follow within 2–4 weeks, with stronger, more resilient skin developing over 4–8+ weeks.
Because ETHYST® focuses on restoring function rather than forcing quick cosmetic effects, results build progressively and last.
Do you offer a way to try before committing?
Yes. The Holy Grail™ Test Kit is designed to let you experience the product before investing in full sizes — plus get $10 off your first full-size Holy Grail™ Facial Oil.
It's the lowest-commitment way to watch your skin respond to biological skincare before building out a full routine or subscription.
What's your return policy?
RETURN POLICY
ONLINE PURCHASES
Unopened, unused and undamaged products (that we accept exchanges on; please see what we do not accept exchanges on below) purchased online at ethyst.com, may be exchanged within 14 days of the original purchase date with the original receipt. All returns will be refunded for the equal value of the original purchase price in the form of an exchange only. We keep record of all purchases digitally. If a transaction cannot be verified, an exchange will be denied.
Additionally, the customer will be responsible for any shipping fees when making an online exchange. ETHYST® does not pay for shipping charges to exchange any items. All online purchases will be exchanged for the equal value of the original purchase price in the form of exchange only.
Lastly, if an order is placed "accidentally", we require a re-order to refund the original order and we charge a $20 processing fee to cover the costs that we incur for processing both the payment and the refund on the order. No exceptions.
WHAT WE DO NOT ACCEPT EXCHANGES ON
ETHYST® does not offer exchanges on any Skincare products, DIY, custom (including, but not limited to print on demand apparel, tote bags, notebooks, stickers, coffee mugs etc.), opened or used products, services, final sale items, or gift certificates. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Additionally, we do not accept exchanges on any product that has shifted in it's container during shipping (i.e. appearing to be "half-full" etc.). Lotion/Cream/Scrub/Liquid/Gel products and the like tend to shift during transport and since Lotion/Cream/Scrub/Liquid/Gel products are packaged by weight and often in containers that are larger than the product's weight, there is room for the product to shift and condense potentially making it appear "half-full" when, in fact, it is not. Since this is a common occurrence in the skincare industry, we do not accept returns of this nature. No exceptions.
CHARGEBACKS
All purchases will be marked as coming from ETHYST Skincare on your credit card statement.
Before deciding to initiate any form of chargeback, please speak with us first. We keep very detailed records and documentation of all purchases. If a chargeback is initiated and the bank finds we are not responsible after reviewing our records and documentation, the customer will be charged the $15.00 fee ETHYST® is charged by our payment processor for processing the chargeback.
DISCOUNT CODES/FREE SHIPPING
Combining discount codes and free shipping offers is strictly prohibited.
ETHYST Trinity System FAQS
What is a barrier-first, biological skincare routine?
A barrier-first, biological skincare routine prioritizes the health and integrity of the skin barrier above all else. Instead of constantly exfoliating or "correcting," it focuses on maintaining hydration, lipid balance, and microbiome stability so skin can function properly on its own.
At ETHYST®, we believe skin performs best when it's supported, not stressed and that a strong barrier is the foundation of every skin concern, which is why we created the Trinity System.
Is the Trinity System suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes! And not just for sensitive skin types, but for sensitized skin caused by product overuse or cumulative irritation.
The Trinity System is biological skincare designed to minimize disruption and support barrier function by avoiding common irritants like harsh surfactants and ethoxylated ingredients, focusing on hydration, lipid replenishment, and skin microbiome support, and using biomimetic ingredients that workwithyour skin, not against it.
What is The Champagne Standard™?
The Champagne Standard™ is ETHYST®'s proprietary formulation benchmark that goes beyond traditional clean beauty.
It surpasses all known clean beauty standards to date including Sephora, ULTA and Credo by eliminating over 3,200 questionable or unnecessary ingredients and prioritizes biological compatibility with the skin — ensuring every formula is endocrine-safe, neurologically safe, and microbiome-conscious.
How is the Trinity System different from a regular 3-step skincare routine?
Most 3-step routines are built around cleansing, treating, and correcting. The Trinity System is built around supporting and sustaining skin function.
Each step works as part of a cohesive protocol (not independent products) with a focus on barrier resilience and skin microbiome health rather than cycling through damage and repair.
A typical routine tries to fix the skin. The Trinity System is designed so the skin no longer needs fixing.
Holy Grail Biomimetic Facial Oil FAQs
What makes this a "holy grail" face oil?
The Holy Grail™ Facial Oil isn't just an oil. it's a barrier-support system designed to work in alignment with skin biology.
Formulated with a focused biomimetic lipid blend, Egyptian rose for calming antioxidant support, and Vitamin E for lipid protection, it mirrors the skin's natural structure rather than overwhelming it.
Applied after moisturizer, it seals in hydration and prevents transepidermal water loss leaving skin calmer, more resilient, and balanced rather than just temporarily glowy.
The result? Skin that consistently looks smoother, more even, and less reactive over time.
Can I use a facial oil if I have oily or acne-prone skin?
Yes and it may actually help more than you've been led to believe.
Oily skin is often a sign of imbalance, not excess. When the skin is stripped or under-supported, it overcompensates by producing more sebum.
That said, not all facial oils are created equal — many are too heavy, comedogenic, or poorly formulated for oily and acne-prone skin.
The Holy Grail™ is formulated with a lightweight, non-comedogenic profile that absorbs efficiently without clogging pores, helping to normalize oil production rather than trigger it. A calm, supported barrier is also less reactive, which means fewer breakouts over time, not more.
How does the Holy Grail facial oil support skin barrier repair?
The skin barrier is made up of lipids (ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids).
When that lipid matrix is depleted, skin loses hydration, becomes reactive, and struggles to protect itself. The Holy Grail supports repair by replenishing those lipids using clean, biomimetic oil, slowing transepidermal water loss, and improving barrier cohesion so the skin's oil and hydration systems operate at their most optimal.
Think of it this way: water hydrates the skin. Oil keeps that hydration in place and strengthens the structure that holds everything together.
Champagne Standard FAQs
What is the Champagne Standard™?
The Champagne Standard™ is ETHYST®'s internal formulation benchmark designed to eliminate ambiguity in clean beauty and replace it with biological compatibility.
It's a strict, science-driven standard that surpasses all clean beauty standards to date including those of Sephora, ULTA, and Credo by excluding over 3,200 ingredients while prioritizing what the skin actually recognizes and uses.
Every ETHYST® formula is built to be endocrine-safe, neurologically safe, and microbiome-conscious with a focus on long-term skin resilience, not quick cosmetic effects.
But it's not just about what's removed. Every ingredient must serve a functional role in skin health, and formulas are designed as cohesive systems, not trend-driven mixtures.
The result is biological skincare — skincare that works with the biology of the skin, not against it.
How is it different from standard clean beauty standards?
Most clean beauty standards focus on removing a limited list of known harmful ingredients.
The Champagne Standard™ goes significantly further.
Many standards allow thousands of ingredients simply because they aren't explicitly flagged — and even technically "clean" ingredients can still disrupt the barrier or microbiome when poorly combined.
The Champagne Standard™ evaluates both ingredient safety and biological behavior, eliminates unnecessary or redundant components, and builds formulas as systems rather than checklists.
It closes the gap between "technically clean" and functionally supportive to create truly clean, biological skincare.
What ingredients does the Champagne Standard™ exclude?
Beyond the 3,200+ ingredients eliminated, the Champagne Standard™ excludes entire categories known to disrupt skin function or overall health — including endocrine disruptors, neurotoxic compounds, ethoxylated ingredients (PEGs), polyquats and synthetic film-formers, petroleum-derived ingredients, synthetic fragrance and undisclosed fragrance blends, harsh surfactants that strip the barrier, and unnecessary fillers or texture agents without skin benefit.
The standard is designed to remove both obvious and hidden sources of disruption, not just the commonly discussed ones.
Is ETHYST® CertClean® certified?
Yes. ETHYST® is CertClean® certified — one of the most rigorous third-party certifications in clean beauty, providing independent verification that our products are free from unsafe or questionable ingredients.
Think of CertClean® as the baseline: it provides third-party validation and transparency beyond brand claims.
The Champagne Standard™ goes further, applying stricter internal criteria with a focus on biological performance, not just ingredient exclusion.
Together, they provide both external accountability and elevated internal standards.

Biological Skincare
What is biological skincare?
Biological skincare is an approach that works with how skin actually functions, rather than trying to override or "correct" it.
Skin is a living, responsive system — and most skin concerns are functional breakdowns like barrier disruption or inflammation, not isolated conditions to be treated in isolation.
Biological skincare focuses on restoring the processes that allow skin to regulate itself. The result is long-term resilience, not forced short-term outcomes. Biological skincare focuses on how skin works, not just how it looks.
How does the Champagne Standard™ support biological skincare?
Every ETHYST® formula is built under the Champagne Standard™ — eliminating over 3,200 harsh, endocrine-disrupting ingredients to ensure our products work with your skin and skin microbiome, not against it.
Ingredients are selected for their functional role in skin health, not for trend or filler value.
Skin Microbiome FAQs
What is the skin microbiome?
Your skin microbiome is the ecosystem of beneficial bacteria living on your skin that helps protect, balance, and regulate it.
Think of it as your skin's invisible defense system — when it's balanced, skin is calmer, more resilient, and better able to protect itself. When it's disrupted, skin becomes reactive, inflamed, and harder to manage.
How does ETHYST® protect the skin microbiome?
ETHYST® doesn't try to add bacteria or actives to overstimulate the skin.
it protects the environment the natural bacteria need to thrive. That means avoiding microbiome-disrupting ingredients like harsh surfactants, unnecessary preservatives, and aggressive actives; maintaining barrier integrity that the microbiome depends on to stay balanced; and preventing the over-stripping that triggers imbalance and inflammation in the first place. When the conditions are right, your skin's microbiome does the rest.
